OFFICIAL GIVEAWAY RULES

1. Promoter
   This promotional Competition (“Giveaway”) is promoted by MedDev (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”), trading as RangerUp, in celebration of MedDev’s 20th anniversary.
2. Benefit of the Giveaway
   Participants stand a chance to win one (1) Badger Adventure Kit (“the Prize”) consisting of one (1) 37 Litre Badger Backpack in the winner’s choice of Ranger Green or Coyote, Two (2) 3 Liter Expansion Pouches with Molle, one (1) First Ascent Atlas One Man Tent, one (1) Snugpak Jungle Bag – Sleeping Bag, one (1) Straight Sleeping Mat, one (1) Snugpak Dri-Sak – 8 Liter, one (1) Snugpak All Weather Notebook, one (1) Notebook Cover, one (1) Microfiber Outdoor Towel, one (1) Nitecore NU31 Headlamp, one (1) Boonie Hat – Olive Drab, one (1) Rubberized Poncho, one (1) 3 Liter Hydration Bladder, one (1) 1 Liter Water Bottle with Sling Pouch and one (1) Two-Piece Mess Tin Set (Dixie) at an approximate retail value of R15 500.00 by entering this Giveaway via Instagram and/or Facebook.
3. How to Enter
   3.1 To participate, entrants must, during the Giveaway Period:
   (a) Follow the official RangerUp Instagram and/or Facebook page; and
   (b) Like; and
   (c) Comment either “Ranger Green” or “Coyote” on the designated Giveaway post on Instagram and/or Facebook.
   3.2 Only entries that comply with all stated entry requirements will be considered valid.
   3.3 No purchase, payment, or other consideration is required to enter, other than the entrant’s own standard data or airtime costs of accessing Instagram or Facebook, which the entrant bears in the ordinary course of using those platforms.
   3.4 Each participant may submit a maximum of one valid entry on Facebook and one valid entry on Instagram, resulting in a maximum of two entries per participant. Following only one of the platforms is sufficient to enter on that platform.
   3.5 Automated, duplicated, fraudulent or otherwise manipulated entries may be disqualified.
4. Eligibility
   4.1 Entrants must be 18 years or older.
   4.2 The Giveaway is open to residents of South Africa and other sub-Saharan African countries, subject to applicable laws, regulations and regulatory requirements in the entrant’s country of residence. The eligibility of an entrant’s country of residence may be determined or verified by the Promoter following the random draw and prior to the confirmation or award of the Prize, subject to Clause 9 of these Terms and Conditions.
   4.3 Employees, directors, and immediate family members of MedDev (Pty) Ltd, its agencies, and any parties directly associated with the Giveaway are not eligible to enter.
5. Giveaway Period
   The Giveaway opens on 18 September 2026 and closes on 30 September 2026 at 23:59.
   Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered.
6. Determining the Winner
   6.1 The winner will be selected by random electronic draw from all valid entries received during the Giveaway Period. The draw will take place on or shortly after the Closing Date.
   6.2 The random electronic draw will be conducted under the oversight of an independent accountant, registered auditor, attorney or advocate, who will oversee and certify that the draw has been conducted fairly and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and applicable law. The Promoter will retain a copy of the independent person’s certification together with the draw records.
7. Notification and Announcement of Results
   The winner will be notified directly via direct message on the platform through which they entered, and the result will be announced publicly via Ranger Up’s Instagram and/or Facebook pages. The winner must respond to the notification within 7 calendar days of the date of the direct message to claim the Prize, failing which the Promoter may select an alternative winner by the same random-draw process.
8. The Prize
   8.1 The Prize is one (1) Badger Adventure Kit as described above. The approximate retail value of the Prize is R15 500.00 (including VAT). The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Promoter reserves the right, where reasonably necessary and due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, to substitute an individual prize item with an item of equal or greater value and of a reasonably similar nature.
   8.2 Delivery and Shipping
   (a) Where the winner resides within the Republic of South Africa, the Promoter will arrange and cover the cost of shipping the Prize to the winner.
   (b) Where the winner resides outside the Republic of South Africa, the winner will be responsible for all shipping costs, customs duties, import taxes and related charges associated with delivery of the Prize. The Promoter will assist with arranging shipping (for example by liaising with a courier and providing necessary documentation) but will not pay for or take full responsibility for coordinating the shipment.
   (c) The winner must settle any applicable shipping costs and related charges, and confirm the necessary arrangements, within 14 days of notification (or such longer period as the Promoter may reasonably allow on request). Should the winner fail to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the offer of the Prize and select an alternative winner by the same random draw method.
   (d) The Promoter will not be responsible for delays, loss or additional costs caused by the courier, customs authorities or any circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control.
   8.3 The winner must provide a valid delivery address and contact details.
   8.4 The Promoter will not be responsible for delays caused by the courier or circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control.
9. Jurisdiction and Legal Compliance
   9.1 While this Giveaway is open to entrants across sub-Saharan Africa, it is the entrant’s sole responsibility to ensure that their entry and participation is lawful in their country of residence.
   9.2 Following the random draw, the Promoter shall verify the eligibility of the selected entrant, including their age, country of residence and eligibility to participate in the Giveaway and receive the Prize in that jurisdiction. Where the Promoter reasonably determines that participation by the selected entrant, or the awarding, delivery or acceptance of the Prize, may contravene applicable law or regulatory requirements in the entrant’s country of residence (including, without limitation, local restrictions on promotional competitions or prize awards), the Promoter may disqualify the selected entrant and conduct a further random draw from the remaining valid entries, subject to applicable law.
   9.3 A selected entrant shall not be regarded as the confirmed winner, and no Prize shall be awarded, until the Promoter has completed the required eligibility and jurisdictional verification.
   9.4 The Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse, disqualify, or decline to award the Prize to any entrant where the Promoter reasonably believes that the entrant’s participation, or the awarding of the Prize to that entrant, would contravene the law of the entrant’s country of residence.
   9.5 Where an entrant is disqualified or a Prize is withheld under clause 9.2, the Promoter may select an alternative winner by the same random draw method from the remaining valid entries, or, at its discretion, decline to award the Prize for that jurisdiction.
10. Disqualification
    10.1 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
    (a) Provides false or misleading information;
    (b) Uses fraudulent or automated methods to enter;
    (c) Attempts to manipulate the Giveaway;
    (d) Fails to comply with these Terms & Conditions;
    (e) Engages in conduct that undermines the fair operation of the Giveaway; or
    (f) The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whose social media profile appears to be used primarily for the purpose of entering multiple unrelated giveaways or competitions.
11. Personal Information
    11.1 Personal information collected from participants will be processed only for purposes reasonably necessary to administer the Giveaway, verify the winner, deliver the Prize and comply with legal obligations.
    11.2 Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and MedDev’s applicable privacy policy (available at www.meddev.co.za or on request).
    11.3 Personal information will not be used for any other purpose without the entrant’s consent and will not be shared with third parties except as required to fulfil the Prize (for example, sharing the winner’s delivery details with a courier) or as required by law.
    11.4 Entry into the Giveaway does not automatically constitute consent to receive unrelated marketing communications.
    11.5 Personal information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the Giveaway, comply with applicable legal obligations and deal with any queries or disputes. Participants may request access to, correction or deletion of their personal information in accordance with POPIA by contacting the Promoter at the details set out in Clause 16.
12. Use of Winner’s Details and Image
    12.1 The winner may be requested to participate in related marketing activity (such as a photo with the Prize) and/or to permit the use of their name and image in the Promoter’s marketing material relating to the Giveaway.
    12.2 The winner has the right to decline any such request, and the Promoter will inform the winner of this right at the time of the request. Declining will not affect the winner’s entitlement to the Prize.
13. Facebook and Instagram Disclaimer
    13.1. This Giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
    13.2. By entering the Giveaway, participants release Facebook, Instagram and Meta from any claims arising from or relating to the Competition.
14. General
    14.1 By entering the Giveaway, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
    14.2 Subject to applicable law, the Promoter’s decision regarding the administration of the Giveaway and verification of entries will be final. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any rights that participants may have under applicable law.
    14.3 The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, or not received due to technical failures of any kind, including issues with the Instagram or Facebook platforms.
    14.4 The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the Giveaway where reasonably necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, subject to applicable law. Any material amendment, suspension or cancellation will be announced on the official Ranger Up Instagram and/or Facebook pages.
    14.5 The Promoter will retain the rules and other records relating to the Giveaway for at least three years after the Competition has ended, in accordance with applicable law.
    14.6 Subject to applicable law (including the Consumer Protection Act), the Promoter’s liability arising from or in connection with the Giveaway is limited to the value of the Prize. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any rights that participants may have under applicable law that cannot be excluded or limited.
15. Governing Law
    This Giveaway and these rules are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, in particular Section 36 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and its Regulations.
